March Good News Story: Biodefense Policy Landscape Analysis Tool (BPLAT)

BPLAT TCM, in partnership with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), successfully held the first 2 implementations of dry runs for a partner-country's version of the Biodefense Policy Landscape Analysis Tool. The tool was designed by the national laboratories to use data visualization techniques (Sand Keys) to better outline the relevant biodefense agencies’ roles and responsibilities. Users can investigate links between the strategy goals, agencies, and responsibilities by moving their mouse over parts of the Sand Key visualizations. The TCM/PNNL team tested asynchronous and virtual delivery methods and successfully navigated both technical and linguistic difficulties to ensure smooth delivery of the BPLAT tool to the project audience. An open-source version of the tool is available here: Biodefense Policy Landscape Analysis Tool (pnnl.gov)
